The Hermit: Awaken to Your Eternal Light

"Let your Light shine so brightly before everyone, so much so that all of your goodness ignites the Light within each of them and that Light becomes so bright that the darkness has no place to hide."

Here on the Hermit card I have from the Waite-Smith Tarot deck, the Hermit is standing on top of what could be a snow covered mountain, holding up a lantern for all to see. You might even imagine it as a mountain so amazing that all the world can see it and the Light so powerful that every living being that is in existence can be illuminated by it.

When I see this lantern I often think about the Sun card and the possibility that the Sun and everything that receives the sun’s light is within this lantern being held so confidently, yet humbly by the wise Hermit.

Is the Hermit calling you to join him on his quest? Or is he holding up the lantern and gazing on the world inside, awaiting the souls within it to wake up from the illusion and the delusions and realize there is so much more to know than what they have experienced in this small, momentary existence inside this lantern?

The Hermit invites you to join him. Standing with his eyes closed, his head bowed reverently, holding this lantern out as if it is a part of his very soul. Perhaps the most important part.

But, where does his light come from? If you choose to follow him, is he going to take you to the place where you can find the answers to your questions?
